Who are Hirebase?
Hirebase are the plant and small tool specialist division of Buildbase.
How does the pricing work?
Hire charges commence from the time shown on the hire contract and continue until hired items are returned to Hirebase or collected by our transport. All days are charged including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. We charge for time out, not time used.
A “day” is up to 24 consecutive hours.
A “week” is from four to seven consecutive days inclusive.
A “weekend” period is from anytime after 3.00pm Friday until 10.00am the following Monday
Can I reserve equipment?
Yes Equipment may be provisionally reserved in advance by telephone, email or in writing. In the case of non-account customers we will require a small deposit, charged against a credit card. Every effort will be made to have the equipment available for collection or delivered at a time specified.
Do I need identification?
We will always seek authorisation should the persons be unknown to us. Should the Hire be on a cash basis we require two forms of identification such as a driving licence and a recent utility bill both of which must show the hirer's name and current address.
Do I need to leave a deposit?
Customers not holding a credit account with the Company are required to pay a deposit at the commencement of the hire period equivalent to three times the weekly hire rate. Hire fees and any other charges are deducted from the deposit on return of items hired. For long-term hires, charges are made at two-weekly intervals and may automatically be made to credit cards. HireProtect insurance is mandatory for customers paying deposits by cash and on some larger items of equipment hire.
What happens when I have finished with the equipment ?
Equipment remains on hire until it is returned to any Hirebase branch. Please telephone if you require equipment to be collected, a nominal charge is made for this services dependant on distance. Security of equipment remains your responsibility until returned or collected by our transport.
Do you deliver?
Yes, our fleet of dedicated delivery vehicles will ensure that the equipment arrives on site and on time. A nominal charge is made for this services dependant on distance.
What happens if the equipment is damaged whilst on Hire?
Damage caused by negligence will be charged to the hirer.
Avoid the risk of unforeseen charges with our Damage Waiver, at an additional 10% of the hire charge, damage Waiver covers you for the first £500 of repair costs caused by accidental damage to our equipment whilst on hire. Damage Waiver must be taken at the point of hire, the hirer cannot decline Damage Waiver then later change their mind. Full details are available on request.
What happens if the equipment goes missing whilst on Hire?
Total loss by theft will be charged to the hirer.
We can offer insurance cover for equipment in your possession whilst on hire. For a small percentage of the net hire charges you are insured against loss or damage in the United Kingdom from the moment you take possession of the equipment to the moment it is returned to Hirebase or collected by our transport. Some restrictions apply, please ask for full details. HireProtect Insurance must be taken at the point of hire, the hirer cannot decline insurance then later change their mind.
